Run the deploy_aux.sql command to send the changes to each terminal.

Send to the PAL target to get the changes sent to all lanes.

Send in add/replace mode.

Run the deploy_aux again (as you did above) and send the subdepartment files.

You must modify the SYSTEM.INI file on each terminal to set the correct tax rate. This can be done one of two different ways. You can use VNC to remote control each terminal and from Launchpad->Setup->Edit INI files press the System Button->Tax RATE2 tab will allow you to change the rate.

An alternate method to edit the tax rate files on each lane is listed below. You can modify all of these files without using remote control for each terminal (VNC) by editing the SYSTEM.INI file directly from the hard drive of each lane using the backoffice PC.

DO NOT COPY THESE FILES FROM LANE TO LANE. EACH LANE MAY HAVE DIFFERENT SETTINGS FOR SCANNERS, SCALES, ETC. THAT WILL CAUSE THE DEVICE TO STOP WORKING IF CHANGED!

Change the Rate= under [TAX2] to be the Tax1 rate plus 1% and save the file.

After the department and subdepartment changes have been made at the backoffice, you must run the deploy_aux to send the changes to each lane. Use message diagnostics->nodes to ensure that the changes have been processed at each lane. If there are files left in the POS Inbox Terminal (like terminal 2 listed below) the changes did not go into that terminal. If the changes do not take effect on a lane, run the exe_activate_accept.sqi from the backoffice for the XAL target and you should check the accept files to ensure that all of the updates were processed into the database tables.

To send activate_accept command to all terminals, follow these instructions:

From Launchpad->Activate->Deploy Files

Select exe_activate_accept.sqm

Select the Target and press GO
