Green's upgraded their Casio SA-2100 system to the Store Management Suite
running on
QT
touchscreen terminals. The PSC
Magellan 8100 scanner/scale makes scanning very fast and accurate while
eliminating the raised scale. The customer display is placed in the where the
scale traditionally was mounted. Clean and neat.

This store is owned by Houchens Industries in Bowling Green,
Kentucky. It is one of over 40 conventional format supermarkets operated by
the chain. Houchens Industries is an employee owned
company that owns and operates a number of different types of businesses
including supermarkets, convenience stores, insurance, recycling, supermarket
equipment manufacturing, and more.
They selected the SMS and
QT touchscreen point-of-sale
system because it is an easy-to-use front-end system designed
from the beginning with an integrated
centralized POS enterprise management system. SMS
provides the ability to scale a system from a single store to
a head office system controlling hundreds of stores.
